BREEAM Domestic Refurbishment
You may have come across the BREEAM Domestic Refurbishment Scheme under its old title of EcoHomes. Since June 2012 it has operated under its new title and Hilsdon Holmes is delighted to have been one of the very first BREEAM DRS licensed organisations to operate in the UK.
As an early adopter of the scheme we were extensively involved with the pilot case studies, which has afforded us the opportunity to work on early design assessments and pre-assessments.
Our BREEAM Domestic Refurbishment Assessors are, therefore, a great choice when it comes to seeking advice and support for your BREEAM Domestic Refurbishment Assessment.
What is BREEAM Domestic Refurbishment?
The BREEAM Domestic Refurbishment assessment deals exclusively with existing buildings. The environmental credentials of the refurbishment project are evaluated according to the BREEAM Certification Scheme which has already been applied to over 200,000 buildings across the world.
The aim of the scheme is to allow developers, architects and designers to demonstrate the environmental credentials they bring to projects. It also aids regulators, asset-managers and planners to set high standards for domestic refurbishment. This is part of a drive to provide market-focused benchmarks for sustainability.
How Hilsdon Holmes can Help with BREEAM Domestic Refurbishment
We have a great deal of experience in this field and we have a number of clients who we are currently assisting with their pre-assessment reporting, and full design reporting.
We work on a huge range of different builds, from single-dwelling renovations to change-of-purpose projects such as office buildings being converted to residential flats.
We are documenting our work in this area, and we plan to publish a series of Case Studies for reference.
In the meantime – look out for our updates and helpful tips or view our Breeam Assessment page.
