Early identification of site constraints in respect of environmental noise.
Experience in the assessment of residential development sites including high rise, high value development proposals within mixed tenure schemes exposed to commercial, industrial and transportation noise.
Experience in using UK standards for the robust assessment of noise sources prescribed in BS 4142 2014 Methods for rating and assessing industrial and commercial sound and BS 5228 2014 Noise Control on Construction and Open Sites.
Extensive experience in consulting with LPAs Regulators and decision makers on the requirements for residential and mixed developments to agree the information required and/or the discharge of planning conditions.
Determine and negotiate acceptable levels of noise emission in the local environment.
Evaluation of practical mitigation of environmental noise in support of site master planning and design following good practice.
Surveying
Surveys of baseline conditions by undertaking noise and vibration exposure assessments.
Surveys of the building fabric and layout to check compliance with BS 8233 internal sound level criterion and that planning conditions are met.
Construction noise assessments using automated noise measurement instrumentation of construction and demolition work which potentially threaten the internal and/or external environment.
Mechanical Installations
Noise assessments of the installation of proposed mechanical plant including air source heat pumps, air conditioning, and heating equipment to assess the potential impact on external and internal residential amenity which can be M&E for detailed design.
Expert witness for planning appeals and Public enquiries
Expert witness representation on environmental acoustics for developers, architects, public sector Authorities and private sector clients.
Technical support can be provided at hearings including the presentation of evidence and rebuttal.
